The timing of the Shelving of SOPA was perfect...

It's January 18 right? So they can still do the campaign, just replace the letters to read PIPA ... unless the Senate version gets pulled tomorrow, also in time to be ahead of the protests.

(Do we still do the protests? Or will people whine "well we already won, so why bother protesting?")

One problem with Copyright is that the actual sales life of something might be some three years before it hits the Long Tail. But the music amd book corps are taking a Hard Line approach because the *cost* to them to sit on a Long Tail property is virtually nothing - maybe five copies of it in the Archives Vault.

Of course, the loss to the public is immense - The company decides it can't be bothered to spend the funds to "refurbish and reprint" the work, but they don't release it in "Assembly Required" condition either.
